August 18 - The Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH, which represents nine Lower Saxon seaports including numerous port handling and logistics service companies on the rivers Elbe, Weser, Jade and Ems, reports a slow recovery in cargo handling is taking place.

In the first half of 2010, some 22,958,000 tonnes of cargo was handled with some ports recording double-digit growth rates, although the total was still 15 percent less than the same period last year.

The Seaports of Niedersachsen represents the ports of Brake, Cuxhaven, Emden, Leer, Nordenham, Oldenburg, Papenburg, Stade and Wilhelmshaven.
