Spierings hits 750 at Vertikal Days

June 28 - Netherlands headquartered Spierings used the Vertikal Days lifting and access exhibition to deliver its 750th crane - a five-axle SK 599-AT5 - to crane hire firm Bronzeshield.

The 500 tonne capacity telescopic crane will be used for lifting jobs in tight spaces, or when height and reach is an issue.
Also on display were two new six-axle SK 1256-AT6 cranes - one for Bedford based NMT Crane Hire and the second for Essex based City Lifting - both equipped with 60 m jibs. According to Spierings, these are the biggest folding cranes on the market without any additions or loose parts.
A four-axle crane featuring a 44 m jib for Edinburgh based crane hire firm Hunter was also exhibited at the Vertikal Days event.
Spierings noted that the simultaneous delivery of the four new cranes reflects the state of the UK market for its lifting equipment. After a few slow years the business for folding cranes in the UK has picked up and there is now plenty of work for these cranes, a Spierings statement read.
"In Spierings' native country, the Netherlands, the folding crane has become the standard lifting crane. With a fleet of 500 Spierings cranes in such a small country, there must plenty of opportunities in the UK market," claimed Koos Spierings, responsible for sales in the UK.
Vertikal Days, which was hosted on Merseyside, UK, June 26-27, 2013 is one of the UK's leading lifting and access exhibitions.
