The keel laying ceremony for Meriaura’s latest newbuilding.

Last week, the official keel laying ceremony for Meriaura’s Ecotrader NB 832 took place at Royal Bodewes shipyard in Hoogezand, the Netherlands.

The classification society Rina performed the official stamping, and Meriaura’s chief technology officer Jyrki Hentula placed a coin under the keel for good luck.

The Ecotrader vessels will measure 105 m in length, have a deadweight of 6,750 tonnes, and carry ice-class 1A notation. They will be equipped to use both biofuel and diesel.
