January 21 - French haulage company Transports Stex has invested in three new TeleMAX flatbed semi-trailers from Faymonville for use in the delivery of wind turbine blades.

With the trailers' extensions, rotor blades measuring up to 60 m and more can be transported, said Faymonville. The trailers (also known as WingMAX) are equipped with pendle axles that give the vehicle more stroke and a steering angle of up to 60 degrees.

Faymonville explained that the TeleMAX trailers' larger stroke makes it possible to increase the rear ground clearance so that the vehicle can swivel over substantial obstacles.

Moreover, said the manufacturer, the pendle axles and improved steering angle give the trailer a left-right balance.

The vehicles also feature rear slide-out extendable platforms, which act as a resting point for wind turbine blades and effectively counteracts the bending with an extremely long load.
