Weather intelligence and voyage optimisation solutions provider StormGeo has incorporated Imarex Technology’s Traffic Light System into its s-Insight Bunker Management platform in an effort to offer a fully integrated solution for optimising bunker procurement decisions.
The platform already supports the full bunker lifecycle – such as planning and optimisation to request for quotation (RFQ) handling and documentation – but adding this feature from Imarex adds a layer of market timing intelligence directly within the same workflow.
Julie Nielsen, global head of bunker sales at StormGeo, said: “Our platform already tells operators where and what to bunker; with Imarex’s proven forecasting, we can now also tell them when. This creates a unique end-to-end capability that improves efficiency, transparency, and cost savings.”
In development since 2018, a traffic light system – according to Imarex – has boosted decision accuracy by more than 60 percent compared to market averages, and in 2025 has, on average, saved clients more than USD7 per tonne.
“This collaboration brings our proven market-timing capabilities into a broader operational context,” commented Lars Christian Jacobsen, chief operational officer of Imarex. “Together, we give shipowners a powerful tool to reduce costs, streamline procurement, and improve earnings.”
Earlier this year, StormGeo entered into a strategic partnership with Bearing AI, whilst also collaborating with Awake.AI via a separate agreement.
