March 5 - Transdata has handled the transportation and installation of plate mill components for one of Brazil's largest steel facilities in Ouro Branco in the state of Minas Gerais.
Transdata has used SPMTs to transport various components, some of which weighed up to 325 tonnes, with the dimensions 14.63 m x 5.6 m x 2.21 m, by road for the project.
As well as the overland transport, Transdata has been involved in the lifting of the plate mill housings into place at the plant. The company used 1,000-tonne and 500-tonne capacity hydraulic gantries to install the units onto their bases.
Transdata claims that the units are the largest components of rolling mill equipment to be installed in Brazil.
