October 17 - A large production component for a Boeing 767 aircraft has been delivered from Japan to Paine Field Airport in Washington, USA on board a Volga-Dnepr Airlines' AN-124-100 freighter, as part of the long-term logistics support agreement between

The oversized component, which measured 14 m x 2.4 m x 3.9 m and weighed in at 35 tonnes, was transported inside a specialised ocean container to ensure its safety en route from Nagoya to Washington. The transport was coordinated by Boeing Supply Chain Logistics.

To expedite the handling process, the container was loaded on board the AN-124 freighter using one of Volga-Dnepr's bespoke loading ramps. From Paine Field, the unit was transported to the nearby Boeing factory in Everett.

In July 2016, Boeing and Volga-Dnepr Group finalised a cooperation agreement, which involved the group's subsidiaries AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) and Volga-Dnepr Airlines providing long-term logistics support for Boeing Commercial Airplanes using its B747-8 and AN-124 freighters.

The agreement also included Volga-Dnepr Group confirming an order for 20 new B747-8 freighters, which will join the ABC fleet.
