Volga-Dnepr fast tracks equipment to Russia

September 2 - Volga-Dnepr has handled the delivery of 180 tonnes of oil and gas equipment from Italy to Brask, destined for the Talakan field in Russia, on behalf of STS Logistics.

A preliminary inspection of the cargo, two 40-tonne compressors and a 60-tonne gas turbine, was conducted in Italy before the largest parts of the consignment were shipped from Milan to St Petersburg by sea transport.

For delivery from St Petersburg to the Talakan oil and gas field, located in the Yakutia region of Russia, Volga Dnepr supplied two Antonov 124-100 freighter aircraft, leased cranes at departure and arrival airports and used its own patented handling equipment to reduce loading and unloading time.

From Bratsk, the oil and gas equipment was carried to the Talakan field by ground and sea transport.
