April 22 - The Port of Everett commission has awarded Nickel Brothers with a contract to relocate the historic Weyerhaeuser building from its current location at the US gateway to the port's new Boxcar Park.

The building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, weighs 350 tonnes and measures 80 ft x 65 ft (24 m x 19 m). It will be moved less than a mile to its new location.

Unlike previous moves for the building, this move will take place by land instead of by water, and will occur at night. The project site and relocation route will be secured.

The contract includes the relocation of the building, the stabilising of the unit's current foundations for future development, the provision of route modifications to any obstacles en route, the demolition of an existing steel storage building near Boxcar Park and a number of other services.
