According to the latest report from shipbroker Toepfer Transport, time charter rates in the multipurpose shipping sector inched up again.
November figures from Toepfer state that the average daily time charter rate for a 12,500 dwt/F-type heavy lift stands at USD6,729, up from USD6,615 a month earlier.
Shanghai Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute (SDARI), in collaboration with DNV and Toepfer Transport, has developed two state-of-the-art multipurpose vessel designs: Octopus 12.6 and Octopus 12.

Finland’s Meriaura has signed contracts with the Dutch shipyard Royal Bodewes for two EcoTrader cargo ships. The vessels will be built in the Netherlands and will be delivered in January and December 2026, respectively.
