March 2 - Gebr

The crane, which had the dimensions 18.75 m x 5 m x 6.9 m, was first shipped as deck cargo on a chartered coaster vessel from Tallinn to Hamburg, explained Franco Ravazzolo, project logistics and breakbulk manager at Gebrüder Weiss.

The crane was discharged in Hamburg using shore cranes, and stored on a river vessel for around ten days, before being loaded as breakbulk cargo onto CMA CGM's containership Aquila using a floating crane. The crane was loaded using an artificial tweendeck of four 40 ft flatracks, said Ravazzolo.

Gebrüder Weiss is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Austria and Taiwan.
