August 12 - AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has transported a 16-tonne satellite on board one of its B747-400 freighters from Toulouse, France to Krasnoyarsk in Russia.

In the first half of 2013 ABC handled over 1,000 tonnes of aerospace equipment including space equipment, aircraft components, helicopter spares and engines.

"We have established a proven track record for the movement of highly sensitive and valuable aerospace cargoes and are now seen as a reliable transportation partner by clients in the industry," said Denis Ilin, executive president of ABC.

"Our sister airline, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, works with leading aerospace customers for the delivery of outsize and heavyweight shipments and as part of our 'cargo supermarket' service, ABC provides a cost-efficient option for cargoes where B747 transportation is the most viable solution."
