AN-225 back in production

September 5 - The world's largest freighter aircraft - the Antonov AN-225 - will be put back into production following an agreement signed by Antonov Company and Aerospace Industry Corporation of China (AICC).

Just one AN-225 entered commercial service. The aircraft is able to transport a 200-tonne payload a distance of 4,000km and first took to the skies in 1988.
The recently signed deal will see Antonov deliver a new AN-225 to AICC with the potential to start series production in China, under licence from Antonov.
