BBC begins new APAC service

December 14 - BBC Chartering has launched a new monthly service between Thailand and New Zealand, calling at ports in Southeast Asia and Australasia, with effect from mid December.

"Due to the increased demand for this connection, we are now pleased to open this new service between Asia and New Zealand," said Steven Hawkswood, senior chartering manager at BBC Chartering in Singapore.

The semi-liner service will be supplemented by BBC's apac (any port, any cargo) inducement service, with Hawkswood stating that the line will actively be looking for cargoes en route for each sailing.

"Due to the nature of the BBC Chartering fleet, we can efficiently and flexibly procure any additional capacity and lifting capability on this Asia-New Zealand leg; just as this might be required by our customers," he added.

Trading enquiries from Thailand and elsewhere in Southeast Asia will be handled by BBC Chartering's office in Singapore.
