Damen Shipyards launches new website

November 24 - Dutch shipyard group Damen Shipyards, a global company with 35 shipyards and employing over 6,000 people, has planted its flag on the world wide web with the launch of a new website -

The family-owned ship builder says the site has been structured according to its "10 Product-Market Combinations" and navigation has been designed to be fast, simple and user-friendly.

COO Arnout Damen says: "For Damen, shipbuilding is as much about building ships as it is about building relations. In our industry face-to-face contact will always remain important. However, modern communication, sales and marketing depend heavily on a good website."

The company is working on phase two of the website development, in which social media platforms and video tools will be integrated into the website.

The company has a wide range of products, including: heavy lift vessels, tugs, workboats, patrol vessels, high speed craft, cargo vessels, dredgers, offshore support vessels, oil-spill response vessels and even frigates and mega yachts.
