March 27 - DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Jannie Davel as its new senior vice president of air freight for DHL Global Forwarding, Americas.
Based in Miami and reporting directly to the ceo of DHL Global Forwarding, Americas, Mathieu Floreani, Davel is responsible for managing DHL's international air freight services, including customer development and operational performance, in 18 countries across North and South America.
Davel succeeds industry veteran Gary Schultheis, who will retire from DHL in April 2014 after serving as head of air freight at DHL Global Forwarding, Americas since 2009.
Davel has held a number of management positions at DHL, including vice president of global RFQ management at the global headquarters in Germany and head of global customer service and care programmes in the UK.
