November 18 - Tokyo-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has announced plans to expand its group-wide logistics services, by winning more plant project business, enhancing trucking and warehouse operations and expanding business into Southeast Asia.

The MOL Group is taking a more proactive stance in increasing investment, expanding investment businesses, and enhancing services while building upon the advantages of its group companies, it says.

One of these group companies, Utoc Corporation, is a Japanese-based total logistics operator specialising in heavyweight cargo transport, with business focusing on harbour and port transit, logistics and plant transport.

When transporting heavy plant equipment, Utoc can provide directly managed integrated services, encompassing transport from the plant - both on land and by barge, loading on to a vessel, land transport at the unloading port, and assembly and retrofitting of facilities and equipment.
