May 7 - Heavy transport specialist Van der Vlist recently transported four large frame sections from eastern Germany to the UK.

The sections were each loaded onto semi lowbed trailers for the journey. The sections measured 8.1 m x 4.71 m x 3.35 m; two weighed 13.95 tonnes each, while the second pair weighed 15.53 tonnes a piece.

A number of smaller items were transported alongside the oversize cargoes.

Upon arrival in the UK, the pieces had to travel along a pre-determined permitted route under escort to a quarry site in Leicestershire.

The frame will used to help move an 850-tonne crusher. The huge unit will be lifted onto the frames before being reloaded onto self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) and moved across the quarry site.
