The acquisition becomes Barnhart’s fifth branch in Iowa, solidifying the Memphis-based company’s presence in the upper Midwest where it also operates branches in Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Founded in 2000, CR Holland Crane Service has its roots in a well-established family business launched in 1968 that focused on moving structures. A second company providing customised equipment for moving heavy objects on the ground was added to the Holland portfolio, which led to the establishment of the crane company, specialising in lifting and setting out-of-gauge components.

“CR Holland’s well-earned reputation for expertise in moving, lifting, and setting out-sized and unwieldy project cargo, their custom-rigging experience, and outstanding customer service makes them a perfect addition to the Barnhart family,” said Dan Ford, Barnhart’s regional business development director.
