Global logistics provider Geodis has made a series of senior leadership changes across Europe while creating a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) department
Amaury Valicon has been named executive vice president Europe, effective November 1, replacing Thomas Kraus. Since joining the company in 2017, Valicon has served as chief financial officer and chief operations officer. He will continue to report directly to ceo Marie-Christine Lombard.
Marc Meier, who has more than 30 years of international experience with the likes of Dachser, Senator International, Fr. Meyer’s Sohn, and Kühne+Nagel (K+N) has been named managing director Germany-Austria-Switzerland, effective October 1.
Maurizio Bortolan, former executive at BRT (Geopost), Maersk and Number 1, will take over as managing director Italy on October 1.
The company also established a department dedicated to AI. Citing improvements in performance, simplification of processes and innovation within the company, Geodis is looking to make AI a key part of its strategy moving forwards. David-Olivier Tarac has been named executive vice president of the department.
Tarac joined Geodis in July 2022 as deputy group chief financial officer before jumping up to chief financial officer in January 2023, Carole Besnard will succeed Tarac in the role.
In July 2025, HLPFI reported that Geodis had appointed Laura Ritchey as president and ceo of the Americas region.
