August 28 - Johannesburg, South Africa headquartered freight forwarder Imperial Logistics has issued its financial results year ending June 30, 2013 (FY2013), showing revenues of RND34 billion (USD3.26 billion), up 21 percent year-on-year over FY2012.
Within South Africa, Imperial Logistics strengthened its position as a leading provider of outsourced supply chain and logistics services - during the second half of FY2013 it saw revenue growth of 12.4 percent and a 21.4 percent operating profit improvement.
Business in the rest of Africa performed strongly, with turnover and operating profit increasing by 23 percent and 45 percent respectively.
Cobus Rossouw, chief integration officer, Imperial Logistics, commented: "During the last year we have gained multiple new contracts, many of which with leading multinationals across the industry spectrum. We also expanded our engagements with various African businesses."
