Port agency and marine services provider Inchcape Shipping Services has opened an office in Mollendo, Peru, as it looks to consolidate its presence in South America.
The company said the new office – its fourth in Peru – is ideally located in the Arequipa region to serve both the Mollendo terminal and the adjacent Matarani port, two critical gateways for the country’s import and export trade.

The Mollendo office will provide services which include full port agency, Customs clearance, P&I matters and husbandry services, among others. The establishment of an office in Mollendo accelerates Inchcape’s entry into the dry bulk market while enhancing service delivery for oil and gas customers, the company said.
Jean Arevalo, operations manager at Inchcape, will head up the Mollendo office alongside Roberth Velez, branch manager for Mollendo and Matarani at Inchcape. In Peru, the firm also has offices in Callao, Pisco and Salaverry.
Earlier this year, Inchcape opened two new offices in Indonesia. In November, it opened an office in Geoje, South Korea.
