Wallenius SOL has appointed Henrik Karle to fleet director/chief technical officer, with Mathias Arnbert stepping into his former role as chief operating officer.
As fleet director/chief technical officer, Karle will focus on fleet development with a particular focus on long-term sustainability, efficiency and technical advancement. As well as being responsible for procurement, Karle will oversee all newbuild projects and ensure that the hardware of the ro-ro carrier’s fleet remains cost-effective, safe and compliant with regulations.

“This role allows me to draw on my experience to further strengthen Wallenius SOL’s technical and operational performance in line with our continued growth,” said Karle, who became chief operating officer in March 2023. “Our vessels are, in many ways, a craft – constantly evolving in form and functionality – and I look forward to driving our fleets future development.”
Previously trade operations manager at Wallenius SOL, Arnbert takes up the chief operating officer position He is tasked with overseeing all operational activities, ensuring that the carrier’s services meet both short and long-term goals when it comes to performance, efficiency and customer value.
HLPFI reported last month that Wallenius SOL’s dual-fuel vessels had joined Gasum’s FuelEU Maritime pool as compliance generators.
