On the sidelines of the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025 in Paris, Mammoet signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EDF to develop technologies and methodologies aimed at improving construction efficiency for nuclear facilities in the Netherlands.

Joost Goderie, ceo of Mammoet, said: “We are proud to be working directly with EDF to accelerate the carbon neutral energy transition in Europe. Working together, we will significantly reduce the timescale needed to bring carbon-neutral facilities online, feeding our communities and economies”.
Over the coming years, the Dutch government will support the development and implementation of a new nuclear build programme in the country. With its many decades of experience in modular construction on a global scale within the energy sector, Mammoet said that it is well placed to deliver on this challenge.
“By combining the knowledge of Europe’s largest nuclear operator with that of the leading expert in heavy lifting and transport engineering, we aim to deliver significant efficiency gains to nuclear energy, paving the way for a future Dutch nuclear programme,” added Vakisasai Ramany, senior vice-president in charge of international nuclear development at EDF.
HLPFI reported on October 28 that Mammoet supported the removal of four steam generators from PreussenElektra’s Unterweser nuclear power plant in Germany.
