SAAM Towage will provide three tugs for the Energía del Pacífico (EDP) project at the port of Acajutla in El Salvador.
The long-term agreement with EDP reinforces SAAM Towage’s presence in Central America. The tugs will begin operations in May 2021.
Each azimuth tug measures 32 m in length and are designed to meet the requirements of offshore operations and escort vessels.
The 378 MW power plant, which will be powered by liquefied natural gas and includes a floating storage and regasification platform, will start to contribute to the grid by the end of 2021.
