Scandinavian Shipping and Neptumar merge

October 8 - Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB - owned by Sweden's Greencarrier AB - has merged with Neptumar AB, owned and operated by the German transport group Menzell & D

The new company will trade under the Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB name, out of offices in Gothenburg and Norrköping in Sweden.

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB offers a comprehensive range of shipping and logistics services, including project cargo handling, liner agency services and dry cargo chartering.

"Our merger with Neptumar in Sweden and the coming cooperation with the Menzell & Döhle group in Germany is a very important step in the development of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics," said the company's managing director, Joachim Lagerstedt.

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics will benefit from the representation of more liner services covering a wider service portfolio, as well as further synergies in other fields including project shipping.

Menzell & Döhle is an independent liner agent with a competitive advantage in Northern Europe, representing approximately 30 liner companies that operate container, conventional cargo and ro-ro services.

"In partnership with Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics, we will be in a position to offer even better service and transport solutions for all our customers - principals, cargo owners and freight forwarders - in the northern part of Europe, said Christoph Tamke, managing director of Menzell & Döhle.

The agreement was signed in Hamburg and has been in effect since September 30, 2013.
