June 5 - Tim Scharwath has joined the board of management of Deutsche Post DHL Group as the new ceo of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.
As announced in May last year, he takes over his new role from group ceo Frank Appel, who managed the function in the interim.
Scharwath was previously heading the airfreight business at Kuehne + Nagel International.
DHL says that in his new role at Deutsche Post DHL Group, Scharwath is set to continue the division's momentum regarding the IT renewal road map as well as the significant progress DHL Global Forwarding, Freight made in operating profit after reporting EUR287 million (USD323 million) in EBIT in 2016.
