Load cell manufacturer Straightpoint, part of The Crosby Group, has selected Thunder Oilfield Services (TOS) as a distributor of its range of force measurement equipment in Thailand.

Former Straightpoint ceo David Ayling (third right) visited Thunder Oilfield Services to secure the distributorship agreement.

Operating throughout the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, TOS specialises in the fabrication, training, inspection and maintenance of lifting equipment and components used in the offshore energy industry. Straightpoint’s load cells will join a fleet of lifting and rigging gear that is stocked across TOS’ global hubs.

Travis Dupre, ceo at TOS, said that despite encountering unexpected slowdowns in the onboarding process due to Covid-19, the equipment will be integral to the growth of the business, as the offshore sector in Thailand – and further afield – returns to normality in the second half of the year.

“Straightpoint’s equipment will be a perfect fit as we return to full speed in the post-Covid era,” he added.
