June 8 - CMA CGM has handled the transportation of a super yacht from Rotterdam to Shanghai.

The line carried the Sunseeker Predator 108 for a leading yacht handling forwarder.

The 33 m yacht, weighing almost 90 tonnes, was easily handled by the port's Bonn and Mees Matador 2 floating crane with the delicate yacht coming comfortably within the crane's lifting limit of 400 tonnes. The journey to Shanghai is expected to take around a month.

Described by its makers as "exemplifying the Predator principle of narrower hull form", giving higher speeds and agility, the Predator 108 can be "rightly viewed as extreme". The rakish, minimal superstructure and arrow-head foredeck arrangement "all express inherent high performance, proven with 45 knots achieved with the 7300 PS, triple Arneson surface drive option", says the shipbuilder.

According to Stefan Peeck, manager projects and special cargoes, CMA CGM (Deutschland), who organised the loading, the project was out of the ordinary for a special reason: "It was fun to load," he recalls.
