USA-based heavy lifting specialist Engineered Rigging has adding six 400-ton (362.9-tonne) skidding systems from Holmatro to its fleet.

The skidding system’s ability to safely transport loads over a relatively large, unsupported span make it ideal for rail-side transfers and difficult infrastructure projects.
“We have seen an increase in demand for reliable, scalable rigging and specialised transport solutions for large projects across the United States,” said Mike Beres, vice president of Engineered Rigging. “By stocking six systems, we eliminate logistical bottlenecks and expedite the delivery of high-capacity, precision equipment, when and where our clients need it, for complex lateral moves.”

The Holmatro 400T’s double-acting cylinders offer 400 tons of capacity in both the pushing and pulling directions. The system uses extremely rigid steel beams, allowing it to span unsupported gaps, which is common in uneven or pre-existing foundations. Powered by a hydraulic split-flow pump means that all skid units move simultaneously, and the six systems are now ready to be deployed nationally by Engineered Rigging.
Also in the firm’s rental fleet is the Holmatro 200-ton (181-tonne) lightweight skidding system, the power slide PS500 system, SPMTs and robot dollies, among other equipment.
In September 2025, Connor Olivera joined the Engineered Rigging as a project engineer.
