Portugal’s Laso Transportes will invest some EUR30 million (USD34.9 million) to expand its special transport and heavy lift fleet.
The plan includes the acquisition of new mobile cranes, tractors, rigid trucks with ramps and winches, modular equipment, wind turbine trailers and the world’s largest blade lifter. It also intends to make its entire light equipment fleet all electric.
Laso is also boosting its own infrastructure, completing new facilities in the Basque Country, Spain, and expanding its headquarters to a total of 120,000 sq m.

In November, HLPFI reported that Laso was deploying its blade lifter equipment to deliver 27 wind turbine blades in San Pancrazio Salentino, Italy.
