Heidelberg, Germany-based Karl Scholl took delivery of an LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr manufacturing plant in Ehingen during November.

The 230-tonne lifting capacity crane features a variable boom system comprising a 75 m-long telescopic boom and a 39 m-long infinitely adjustable luffing jib, as well as innovations such as Liebherr's VarioBase and VarioBallast.

Wolfgang Schneider, managing director at Scholl-Group Heidelberg, said: “The new LTM 1230-5.1 delivers excellent crane capacity in the five-axle class and is flexible to use. The LTM 1230-5.1 also fits perfectly into our fleet from a logistics point of view. It can be made ready for use quickly and is flexible.”

He added that the unit will be used in the chemical and construction industries. “Its variable support base and reducible ballast radius enables us to use the new crane even better in constricted environments.”
