Spanish shipbuilder Navantia has taken delivery of nine modular combinations of Cometto's modular, self-propelled electronic (MSPE) platforms.

The order, which adds up to a total of 46 axle lines, includes five 6-axle and four 4-axle MSPEs, each with a capacity of 48 tonnes per axle line, as well as two power packs equipped with Scania engines.

According to Cometto, the 6-axle MSPE trailer has a maximum payload of 288 tonnes and features high levels of manoeuvrability. Navantia's modules are also equipped with solid rubber tyres, which Cometto says ensures the highest payload capacity.

The two 368 kW power packs feature the first Scania engines delivered to Cometto following the partnership announced in October 2017, as HLPFI reported here.
