Harland & Wolff Belfast agreed to purchase two industrial heavy transporters (IHT) from TII Kamag.

The IHTs are the first two operational machines delivered to support the Fleet Solid Support (FSS) contract, awarded to Navantia UK by the UK’s Ministry of Defence.

Ian Agnew, FSS procurement officer at Navantia UK, said the equipment will help to further optimise production processes. “We were looking for a transport solution that was not only reliable and efficient but could also be flexibly integrated into our processes. The decision in favour of TII Kamag was an easy one – the technology is excellent, and our collaboration has always been underpinned by genuine trust,” he said.

The vehicles will be used to support internal logistics operation and help Navantia UK as it accelerates the upgrade of its Harland & Wolff shipyard. TII said the demands placed on internal transport activities in the shipbuilding industry remain high. Large components, tight space conditions and a high cycle rate require a robust, flexible and reliable solution.

In September 2024, TII Kamag named Movincar Group as its sales, rental and service partner for all Kamag yard logistics vehicles in Italy.
