Birkeland to step down as G2 Ocean CEO

Rune Birkeland will resign as ceo of G2 Ocean, effective January 1, 2020.

 Rune Birkeland.

Birkeland, who has served as ceo since the company’s inception in 2017, will continue to take an active part in the company as a Grieg Group representative.

He will be replaced by Arthur English, who currently serves as G2 Ocean’s chief commercial officer. In the coming months, Birkeland will work with English in order to ensure a smooth transition.

According to G2 Ocean, Birkeland has been instrumental in developing a new five-year strategy for the company, which was approved by the board earlier this month. The strategy outlines priorities for how G2 Ocean will enhance its customer service, continue its growth, improve environmental performance and secure the right skillset for the future.
