Collett & Sons has transported four steel tubes 90 miles (144.8 km) from Cleveland Steel & Tubes Depot to Grinton in the Yorkshire Dales.

After a month’s worth of rain fell in just two hours, Cogden Beck bridge was completely destroyed by boulders and debris washed down in the early August floods. The steel tubes delivered by Collett will be used to divert a waterway ahead of the construction of a temporary bridge.

The components were loaded onto crane trucks and delivered to the project site.

The vehicles feature five boom extensions and have a lifting capacity of 23-tonnes at a 2.75 m outreach. This allowed each of the 14-tonne tube sections to be positioned directly on the riverbed.
