Northport orders Konecranes MHC

Northport New Zealand has ordered an eco-efficient Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbour crane (MHC) for its deepwater facility at Marsden Point.

The crane will be delivered and commissioned during the first quarter of 2020 and will expand Northport New Zealand’s ability to handle containers, general cargo and bulk materials.

The company has ordered a G HMK 6507 variant, which has a maximum lifting capacity of 125 tons (113.4 tonnes).

“Since we started handling containers, we have received outstanding support from Konecranes,” said Northport ceo Jon Moore. “They have provided a high-performance crane that gives us wide flexibility in handling any kind of cargo.”
