USA-based heavy transport specialist Berard has handled the installation of a 450-ton (408-tonne) dredge ladder structure for a shipyard in Louisiana.
The ladder was transported through the fabrication yard using 28 axle lines of SPMTs with three power pack units.
Berard engineers designed a plan to take eight axle lines of SPMTs on top of the transporters to reach the dredge’s required elevation.
According to Berard, a combination of lifting the SPMTs and lowering the dry dock made the installation successful.
