Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL) has moved a 75 m-long beam, weighing 135 tonnes, from Alexandria to Cairo.

According to EGL, this was the longest beam to move inside Cairo city. It was moved using hydraulic modular turntables and two Mercedes prime movers.

“The main challenge was the very limited time to install the beams due to the road closer during the wholly month of Ramadan and the movement of such a gigantic load in the heavy traffic of Cairo,” said EGL.

The company added that executed a similar move with the delivery of parts for the Adly Mansour main station that measured 63 m-long back in November 2021.
