Türkiye-headquartered engineered transport specialist Hareket has contributed to the expansion of Mersin International Port in Türkiye, whilst also completing the installation of press equipment at an automotive manufacturing facility.
For the first phase of the port expansion project at Mersin International Port, Hareket played a central role in heavy lifting operations with its equipment fleet, engineering services, and field team. Hareket’s client, Doğuş Construction, is carrying out the work.
Equipment used for the project includes a 400-tonne capacity CC 2400 crawler, a 400-tonne Liebherr LR 1400 crawler, a 300-tonne CC 1800 crawler, a 180-tonne Sany SCC 1800 crawler, two 100-tonne rough terrain cranes, plus a further crawler.
Becoming one of the largest logistics investments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the infrastructure project in Mersin has seen a 368 m quay incorporated into the port. The Eastern Quay has now been brought into operation, in turn boosting the port’s capacity. Hareket, alongside Doğuş Construction, are underway with the project’s second phase.
In a separate project, Hareket successfully completed the installation of press equipment weighing up to 2,300 tonnes at an automotive manufacturing facility. A long-term project, Hareket spread its work across multiple phases, providing transport and lifting services of press components such as crowns, beds, and slides – which varied in size and weight.
Highlighting its high load capacity and precision, Hareket opted for a HSB 1000 gantry system to assemble the components.
