Turkish transport engineering and rigging specialist Hareket has deployed a 2,200-tonne capacity Sany crawler crane to lift 24 girders as part of the Rahman Island Bridge project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Each girder weighed 95 tonnes. Hareket opted for Sany’s 2,200-tonne capacity crawler crane as it provided a more efficient and cost-effective solution compared to using a barge crane, thus eliminating the need for marine equipment completely. According to Sany, using this crawler crane cut project costs by 40 percent as opposed to a barge crane option whilst speeding up operations by 35 percent.
The crawler had a 100-m boom reach over the sea and was able to continue operating despite temperatures of 50°C
In a separate project, Hareket transported a Yankee cylinder to a factory site using a 14-axle hydraulic trailer. The unit, which measured 8.8 m x 6.2 m x 6.3 m, will be used in paper production. It was installed on a 10.5 m foundation using a Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 crane, providing a precise assembly operation despite confined spaces.
Last month, HLPFI reported that Hareket had been on hand to expand port in Türkiye, whilst also completing the installation of press equipment at an automotive manufacturing facility.
