Hevile Logistica e Consultoria Internacional and its South Korean partner, Panstar, have managed the transportation an 833-ton (755.7-tonne) ship deckhouse from South Korea to Brazil.

The deckhouse, which measured 27 m x 44 m x 28 m, was shipped from Ulsan. Due to limited space on the wharf in Ulsan for the mooring of larger ships and floating cranes, the cargo was rolled onto a barge for onward transportation to the port of Masan.

In Masan, the cargo was loaded on board BBC Chartering's multipurpose ship, Panagia, which had been fully chartered.

The deckhouse was loaded directly from the barge using a 1,200-ton (1,088.6-tonne) capacity floating crane.

In addition to the deckhouse, other cargoes originating from Shanghai, Qingdao and Masan were also stowed in the hold of Panagia, including a 400-ton (362.8-tonne) engine.

This is the first of four deckhouse shipments that Hevile will complete this year, with the next scheduled for May.

Hevile, a member of the WCA Projects network in Brazil, was also responsible for the engineering calculations for the lifting operations and the lashing of the cargo for the ocean transport.
