The unit measured 78.4 m long and 11 m wide and needed to be moved from the factory site to Gujarat port for loading onto an ocean-going vessel.

The work was completed on behalf of ICA Fluor – a joint venture between Mexican engineering and construction company ICA and the USA-based engineering and construction company Fluor.

Equipped with heavy lift specialists, barge specialists, transportation engineers and ship captains, the Kuehne + Nagel team handled the loading of the cargo amidst high tide due to the prevailing monsoon weather conditions.

“This equipment is critical to our project in Mexico, and its fabrication and transportation to port was a real challenge due to its extraordinary features,” said Dr José Raymundo Ríos, head of procurement, ICA Fluor.
