Mammoet has installed four 7 MW wind turbines at the Nissum Bredning wind farm in Denmark.

Located in the Bay of Thyborøn, the Nissum Bredning wind farm cannot be accessed by specialist installation vessels due to the seabed conditions and shallow water depths of only 3 m. Therefore, Mammoet utilised a barge with an integrated ballasting system to transport and install the wind turbine components.

According to Mammoet, this provided the necessary stability for the operation while eliminating the need for dredging.

The components for the four wind turbines, which have a hub height of 97 m, were lifted and installed with a Liebherr LR11350 crane.
