Megalift has coordinated the delivery of two 380-tonne gas turbines for the 1,200 MW Pulau Indah gas-fired combined cycle plant in Port Klang, Malaysia.

Megalift handles final heavy lift cargoes for the Pulau Indah plant

Megalift has already handled more than 200 shipments for the project. This latest consignment included the final heavy lift cargoes for the plant, with the remaining shipments comprising accessories and additional parts.

The company received the turbines, measuring 11 m x 4.78 m x 5.04 m, at the port and transported them to site ready for the lifting operations.

Megalift is a member of the XLProjects (XLP) network.

Meanwhile, fellow XLP member Precious Prestige Logistics (PPL) shared details about the load in and load out of a newly built catamaran, Austal Hull 425.

Back in March 2023, PPL transported the vessel, which weighed 460.5 tonnes, from Austal’s drydock to Dong Xuyen wharf using SPMTs. It was loaded onto one of the company’s barges for transport to the Ba Son Shipyard. Here, PPL loaded out the Austal Hull 425 from the barge to the wharf and moved it to a dedicated area for launching.

After launching the vessel, PPL arranged tugboats to move the vessel back to the Dong Xuyen area for final fitting jobs.
