Roll-Lift USA has utilised Faymonville TeleMAX trailers to move wind turbine blades from the port of Houston.

The trailers can reach a total open length of 200 ft (61 m), comprising approximately 176 ft (53.6 m) of deck length and 24 ft (7.3 m) of non-load bearing pull-out for a longer overhang.

At the port of Houston, the blades were unloaded using a Manitowoc crane and one of the ship’s own cranes.

According to Faymonville, the trailer has been adapted to US Department of Transportation (DoT) standards with regard to the air and electric systems. Its lightweight construction increases the payload capacity and the low loading deck height helps to avoid height clearance issues such as bridges.

The override remote control steering also allows the trailer to manoeuvre around tight turns, added Faymonville.
