Universal Africa Lines’ (UAL) K5 Freeport & Oil Centre in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, has served as the platform support specialist and logistics service provider for the Alen gas monetization project.

Noble Energy tasked K5 Freeport & Oil Centre with project management, port services, road transportation, rigging and lifting of 37,000 tonnes of concrete-coated pipe to support the project.

Two vessels – UAL Lobito and Symphony Performer – delivered the equipment, which was then transferred onto the pipe laying vessel Castorone.

The 70 km of pipe will be laid by Saipem Offshore Construction to extend the life of the LNG facilities and transform the Punta Europa complex into a gas hub for the future development of gas fields in the Gulf of Guinea.
