October 26 - The project division of Spanish freight forwarder Altius has recently handled the movement of a significant consignment of industrial equipment, including coke drums, from Japan to Saudi Arabia.

The consignment was made up of seven packages, weighing 3,536 tonnes in total adding up to 27,415 cu m, and included six 595 tonne coke drums. It was moved from the manufacturer to the port of Kobe, Japan by barge for loading onto the SAL Shipping's Svenja for the voyage to the construction site at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

Altius' projects division, with its own offices in Madrid, Bilbao and Buenos Aires is a division of the Altius Group, which in turn is a subsidiary of Vigo, Spain-based Maritima Davila.

The division's specialisations include providing logistics and project cargo services to clients in the oil and gas, power generation, civil engineering and mining industries.
