TPI Mega Line reveals Mega Caravan II

August 31 - South Korean heavy transportation company, TPI Mega Line has introduced the newest heavy lift deck carrier to its fleet, Mega Caravan II, which becomes one of three company ships contracted by the Gorgon Joint Venture in Australia.

TPI Mega Line reports that it has been awarded three transportation contracts by Chevron Australia, scheduled to start in early 2012.

Mega Caravan and Mega Caravan II (pictured below) are two state of the art sister heavy lift deck carriers, and joinMega Trust in the transportation of modules from South Korea, Indonesia and China to Barrow Island, Western Australia. The total value of the three contracts, including the options, is approximately USD76 million.

The Gorgon Project is operated by Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (approximately 47 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
