June 24 - Johannesburg based forwarder Transcor has started delivering the first of 23 Komatsu-built mine dump trucks from Johannesburg to Namibia - a distance spanning more than 2,000 km.

According to Transcor, it is one of the largest freight loads ever carried by road in Southern Africa. A joint team from Transcor and Komatsu has worked together to plan the safe movement of the trucks across difficult terrain and across country borders.

The giant trucks will be used in Namibia's Husab uranium mine.
